As a Friend of Shell Space you are invited to come together, meet others in this community, share food, good vibes and contribute to our first Quest together. Main Quest: Contribute to decorating OUR community picnic shelter with embroidery or painting with natural dye thanks to TOR the label. This ‘Shell ter’ will be sewn together to be used for future outdoor events in the warmer months. Side Quest To celebrate Spring: WE can adorn each other with flowers by DIRT MONOLOGUE, eat a sand castle cake by ‘I MADE A CAKE’ yum If possible Please Bring: ~needle and thread ~If you want to bring a drink or snack to share too that would be lovely. 3pm - 6pm (Main event) SATURDAY 27 September Location: Shell Space 8 McIver St, Brunswick (free parking on Frith St) SUNDAY 28 September times are for those who can't make it to Saturday but still want to contribute to the 'Shell'ter. This is a project born from the desire for community. If you have had an experience at Shell Space, then we all have something in common. Community is built through: ~shared interests ~shared values ~shared experiences ~shared purpose ~shared time and space ~shared effort ~shared generosity ~ shared commitment ~sharing To build a shelter is like lighting a candle. A promise of intentional time together. A little hope for more connection, presence and mystery. Many cultures around the world hold events, festivals and traditions but the real experience is in the lead up..the time preparing and working on little acts of love to make those events beautiful. Project ‘Shell’ter’ hopes to take all the good things about Shell Space into nature. To offer a similar meeting place for people to feel belonging and connected by. Once the ‘Shell’ter is made, we can aim to run re occuring picnics that will allow people to share skills, play in nature, connect with interests and offerings. Making memories is magic. The ‘Shell’ter can be added to bit by bit and lying underneath we can watch it change over time. It will hopefully be the most beautiful cubby to behold - beautiful because we made it together!
